Internet provider Aussie Broadband has been ordered to pay $213,120 after the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) found the company failed to provide customer information to the integrated public number database more than 30,000 times between November 2021 and May 2022.

New rules proposed for accessing public number data

The Australian Media and Communications Authority plans to change the Telecommunications Integrated Public Number Database Scheme of 2007 to allow more access by research industries.

Macquarie Telecom has been sanctioned by the Australian Communications and Media Authority for contravening the Telecommunications Act and failing to upload customer data for some of its landline and mobile services to the Integrated Public Number Database (IPND).
